Guns. Dames. Shadowy characters and colorful monologues. Adapted and re-imagined over the years from classics of both cinema and literature, the genre has received a resurgence in popularity over recent years, many examples of which combined elements of old school storytelling with more contemporary concepts and design. Science-fiction, fantasy and the occult...
NOXiS Media presents the latest incarnation of these twists on the old formula.
ARBITER: The Outsiders is a first-person point-and-click adventure game in the style of the Tex Murphy series and sci-fi classics such as Bladerunner and Dark City. Set in a skewed reality, it tells the story of a detective named Harding. Contracted to trail a mysterious organization known only as The Host, he stumbles instead upon a trail of murder, madness and mind-bending revelation. With only his wits and a sturdy steel pipe to guide him, Harding's only hope is the population of Kinship itself, a cast of weird and wonderful characters whose intentions are rarely as they first appear.
Featuring cinematic sequences, shot against green screen and layered over richly textured backdrops, this is interactive cinema with a pulse. Beautifully detailed and open-ended in design, it features multiple outcomes and several different endings. The first of a six episode saga is stenciled for release in mid 2007, with a trailer coming in late May.
The Host is awaiting your arrival...
